Membrane separation method to produce pharmaceutical water is an inevitable trend in the development of pharmaceutical water technology. At present, most domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies use ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange combined methods to prepare purified water, and then use distillation to prepare water for injection. In the above pharmaceutical water production process, ion exchange technology is still widely used as a deep desalination method. However, when the ion exchange resin is regenerated, a large amount of waste acid and waste alkali will be produced, which seriously pollutes the environment and restricts development. The reverse osmosis membrane can achieve 100% removal rate of bacteria, pyrogens, viruses and organic matter in the water. Although secondary reverse osmosis can eliminate the use of ion exchange resins, it requires high salt content in the raw water, because the current system desalination rate of reverse osmosis devices is about 98%. If the salt content of the raw water is high, the conductivity of the produced water is low. Will exceed the control index. Medical pure water has relatively stricter and higher water quality requirements. It is often required that the resistance value of ultrapure water should be higher than 15 megabytes. Third, Process comparison of three kinds of purified water equipment

At present, there are basically three processes for preparing ultrapure water for the electronics industry, and the rest of the process flows are mostly derived from the above three basic process flows through different combinations and collocations. Their advantages and disadvantages are listed below:

1. The advantage of using ion exchange resin is that the initial investment is small and the space occupied is small, but the disadvantage is that it needs frequent ion regeneration, consumes a lot of acid and alkali, and has certain damage to the environment.

2. The second type uses reverse osmosis as pretreatment and is equipped with ion exchange equipment. Its characteristic is that the initial charge is higher than that of ion exchange resin, but the regeneration cycle of ion equipment is relatively long, and the acid and alkali consumption is more expensive than pure ion. The way of resin is much less. But it is still destructive to the environment.

3. The third type uses reverse osmosis as pretreatment and equipped with an electro-deionization (EDI) device. This is currently an economical and environmentally friendly process for preparing ultra-pure water, and does not require acid and alkali for regeneration. It can continuously produce ultra-pure water, which is not harmful to the environment. The disadvantage is that the initial investment is too expensive compared to the above two methods.
